So... My
husband Brant and I had been married for a couple of months when we started
discussing children. We knew that we wanted kids right away and thought there
is no point on waiting. We had a doctor’s appointment and asked our doc about
infertility rates, how long we would be trying before it happened etc. You
know, all of the important stuff that you would want to know before IT
happened.
My doctor warned us that some couples try
for years and years before they ever conceive so not to get discouraged if it
doesn't happen right away. That was when we decided to start tracking my
menstrual cycle and get on with trying our luck.
It was June 28th, I marked a red dot on my
calendar to mark the end of "the curse" ... We do the nasty on a
daily basis so we weren't too concerned with trying on certain days. We ended
up finding a wonderful website which we used to see what days were highest for
fertility during the month... and sure enough we conceived our first cycle of
trying... We were over joyed but when it came down to it I was scared... I
thought to myself... Okay this is it.. We knew we wanted a baby but now it was
REALLY happening... Time to prepare for baby #1.
